Tudor Glen Veterinary Hospital started very small in 2001, when Dr. Tammy Wilde bought a struggling business and began turning it into a great success. “It was a lot of sweat and tears that went into this place,” says Operations Manager Nathan Schenn. “Tammy never turned anyone away.”
All that hard work paid off when Tudor Glen Veterinary Hospital won the Small Business Award from the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce in 2014. The clinic has expanded with its success, now boasting five veterinarians and 10 technicians who provide a wide range of services not found at other clinics. But while the business has broadened, the focus on customer service has not. Wilde encouraged her staff to maintain a solid focus on client needs and that has resulted in a loyal following. “People really like Tammy as a veterinarian,” explains Nathan. “They like bringing their pets to her and they trust her. I think that’s what’s really built the business.”
One of only two vet clinics in St. Albert that accommodates some “pocket pets,” patients seen here (other than cats and dogs) are guinea pigs, ferrets and rabbits. In addition to its wide range of services, including oncology, microchip implantation and ultrasounds, the clinic has an Adopt-a-Pet program and a coin-operated dog wash, complete with shampoo and conditioner! Pulsed Signal Therapy (PST) is also available here, a treatment which helps ease the suffering of pets with joint and inflammatory diseases, including osteoarthritis and hip dysplasia.
