The RM of Torch River No.488 is located north of Nipawin, Saskatchewan. The Municipality includes all the lands lying on the north side of the Saskatchewan River in ranges 13 to 21 inclusive, to the northerly boundary of township 55. The total area of the municipality is 60 townships (some partial) of which approximately 28 are settled. The settled portion of the muncipality is almost entirely surrounded by forest. There are 3 provincial forests within the RM; Provincial Forest, Torch River Forest and Fort a la Corne.Included under the administration of the RM of Torch River No. 488 is the Hamlet of Garrick, Hamlet of Snowden, Hamlet of Shipman, Scot's Landing and Pruden's Point.
