Ate there twice in past week......have not been disappointed.........had veal parm and Greek slouvaki.......excellent service and large portions.....meals came with soup or juice and rice pudding and or jello........very reasonable prices.....one skewer slouvaki was 12.99 and came on a bed of rice, fries and Greek salad.......did not have the soup has it would have been too much.........would highly recommend......going back tomorrow with friends lol.......

We were greeted at the door by a respectful very friendly young woman named kirsten, then brought to our nice roomy comfortable booth at the side of the restaurant. we were greeted by our server straight away, Tina, who Brought our first round of drinks. Once we saw the menu we ordered nice and quickly, the menu was quite detailed. Salad and bread was brought to our table and the feast began. when tina brought our food to the table i joked that i might have to take it home. I was able to eat a couple of pieces and she kindly packed the rest up for me.
I enjoyed the NY theme in this resaurant. I will return to this east side mario's often i had a great time and felt like i was a guest in their home.

The Pita's are uncomparable to any other location. Service is excellent, food is majestic, by far the best shawarma location in the Ottawa region. Ask for extra garlic sauce, it's good stuff.

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time.
We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short.
The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant.

I come here in this buffet restaurant so many times with friends because we just love the food selection and their great taste. To me, this was one of the best Chinese buffet restaurant in Ottawa with a fair meal price. It’s just sad to see this place close its doors permanently. I came here for lunch a few months ago and was very impressed. We arrived just as the place opened up; the upstairs dining area had not been opened yet. Regardless, I asked if we could have a table on the upper level and the wait staff accommodated our request and opened up the upstairs area and we were given the option to have our choice of any table we wanted. We chose a table on the North side of the restaurant with a great view of the By-ward Market. My burger tasted a little dry but as I had never tried buffalo or bison before I didn't know if that was normal or not. Aside from that the atmosphere was so nice I probably would have even enjoyed a bad meal in that restaurant, sitting where I was.

When I moved to Ottawa, a friend recommended Ada's, a diner he had frequented for many years.
Five us went in early January '08 and I've been there probably 3 times a week, every week, ever since. Ada, Wilf and Jaz know almost evrybody by name who come in the door. Sure it's crowded and noisy, but what a happy place to have a meal. And her soups are fantastic. When Ada knows you like a particular soup, she will offer it to you even though it's not on the menu. Talk about PR; this diner has it in spades. I often buy extra soup and take it back to the office for others to enjoy.

Five of my girlfriends and I decided to try out Woody's for dinner and cocktails as it came highly recommended by one of our foodie friends. We were promptly greeted at the door by a friendly server who showed us to our candlelit table beside a fireplace. My friends and I each decided to order a different cocktail or martini and try a few sips of each - my favourites were the Woody's Caesar and Dream Soda. For dinner I tried the dinner special - a generous half rack of pork side ribs with jalapeno apple bbq sauce, homemade creamed corn, mashed potatoes and a buttermilk biscuit, it fell away from the bone effortlessly and was cooked to perfection. I also had a bite of the sliders that my friend had been raving about and the combination of carmelized onion and brie cheese was delicious! We all had plans to go out to another spot after, but were having so much fun at Woody's that we decided to stay. I will definitely be coming back and would recommend this pub to anyone in the future.
