I totally don't agree with the review below. It was the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter very light and crispy, not greasy at all. Phenomenal fish. The service was quick and great, the restaurant very cozy and clean. My whole party had a very nice experience. I'll for sure go back. You just can't get enough of it.
This is by far the best fish and chips I've had. We eat here on a fairly regular basis and it's rare not to be good. That said, I have had some (couple of times) less than great fish from here ? a little dried out or tuff, but that is rare. Usually it's very good. But if grease offends you then stay away. The fries are always good, and of course you need to cover them in lots of gravy. Great coleslaw too. It is somewhat expensive for the halibut, but that's because halibuts expensive I suppose. A 4 fish and 2 fries dinner cost about 30 bucks and will feed a family of 4.
This place is seriously overrated by three of the previous reviewers. The fish was dry, the chips were mediocre and the battered mushrooms were hard balls of greasy batter. The service was very quick with the food, probably because it had sat in a warming tray waiting for us. Getting the bill was another story. The only waitress was very busy, it was fairly crowded but who knows why? The price was high for what we got. We won't be going there again.
I've had fresher tasting Fish and Chips out of a box from No Frill's. Maybe we caught them on the tail end of a old shipment of fish but by the time you worked through the extremely greasy batter you came across a piece of dried out material that even a FBI forensic scientist would have trouble identifing. Never again, thank God for Tums.
I was so disappointed when I asked to have a half portion of fish and chips and they refused! Then, I asked for a ceasar salad instead of house salad and they said I would have to pay the full price for a ceasar salad because they don't substitute! When it first opened it was hopping but now very few people go there.
